UTS Centennial Honorary Chair

UTS Centennial Co-Chairs Penny Harbin '78 and Cindia Chau-Boon are pleased to announce Christopher A. Alexander '85 as Honorary Chair of the UTS Centennial.

Chris was the UN Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General for Afghanistan, where he was responsible for political issues, as well as issues related to peace and stability, security sector reform and human rights.

As a UTS student Chris was a leader, serving as School Captain. In addition to an excellent leader, he proved to be an outstanding speaker as a member of the Debating Society and its Executive. Chris' UN career took root at UTS, where he was President of the Southern Ontario Model UN Assembly (SOMA).

He received a BA from McGill University in Montreal in history and politics in 1989 and an MA from Balliol College at Oxford University in England in philosophy, politics and economics in 1991. Chris was chosen as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in 2005.

Recently, Chris was chosen as the Conservative candidate in Ajax-Pickering for the next federal election.
