Governance
On January 1, 2004, UTS became a non-profit corporation with its own board of directors. While we remain affiliated with the University, we are no longer a unit within OISE/UT.
UTS' mission is guided by its objects as stated in the letters patent:
|
(a) |
To offer and conduct educational programs for the advancement of education at the primary and secondary levels by managing and operating the institution known as the University of Toronto Schools, as successor to and in affiliation with the University of Toronto and as part of the University community; |
|
(b) |
To provide highest quality and accessible education to students selected on the basis of merit; |
| (c) |
To serve as a resource and facility for the initial and continuing education of teachers; |
| (d) |
To develop, support and advance school and university curriculum, instruction and assessment methods through research and innovation in both the Canadian and international contexts. |
