Rebecca Levere

Rebecca Levere: When not in the classroom teaching Politics and Civics, Rebecca is involved in a variety of projects designed to engage young people in social justice work. She is the editor of Foray: a forum for young voices on our global future, a youth-centred global issues magazine, and a co-organizer of the annual Foray Symposium. The symposium brings some of North America's leading thinkers and activists in the global issues arena together with young people from across Canada to share ideas and strategies on effecting social change. She has also written on global issues for the national press, including the Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star, and appeared on TVO (More to Life) and CBC Radio (Here and Now). Directing and producing Crash Course: Canadian Teens in Zambia in 2004 was her first foray into documentary-making. In 2006 she will be directing and producing A Mile in Her Shoes.
