Athletic Awards
The following awards, annually given at the Athletics
Banquet, are a proud part of the UTS Athletic tradition.
Athlete of the Year Award is awarded to the
best male and female student athlete.
- Ron Wakelin Award
is for male athlete of the year.
- Ornella Barrett Award
is for female athlete of the year.
The selection is based on the following criteria:
- The athlete must be a
graduating student.
- The student has displayed
exceptional skill, leadership, sportsmanship and
achievement in competition during their UTS athletic
career

Director of Athletics Award is awarded by
the Director of Athletics to the student who has displayed
superior commitment to the advance of sport at UTS.
Letter Awards
Each team also awards two
Team Awards every
season.
- Most Valuable Player
Award which is awarded by the team coach to the
student who has displayed exceptional skill, leadership,
sportsmanship and achievement in competition.
- Blues Player Award
which also awarded by the team coach to the student who has
displayed exceptional sportsmanship, commitment, spirit and
dedication to their team.
