Course: MPM1D (math) for Incoming Gr. 9 Students

Position Term (covering prep time, instruction and assessment ): May 1, 2019 – September 1, 2019 

Compensation:  $6,500

UTS is looking for a teachers to teach the above noted online summer full-credit courses. The courses are delivered through the Moodle course management system starting in the spring and running throughout the summer. Course review and revisions to online material (including assessment tasks and tools) may be required. Courses must be compliant with Growing Success, and other relevant Ontario Ministry of Education documentation as noted below. Most student and teacher work will be completed online with some face-to-face sessions toward the end of the courses and/or as needed.

To be compliant with Growing Success, part of the teachers’ responsibilities will include ensuring: 

  • Online student-teacher interaction, including the inclusion of at least one discussion through an online forum per course unit, including assessment of the discussion
  • Monitoring of student attendance as per UTS defined online attendance policy
  • Inclusion of success criteria to accompany learning goals in online and offline course materials

Applicants must have teaching qualifications in the designated subject area and competency in developing and using online teaching resources. Access to the internet and a computer throughout the spring and summer is required.

We are looking to get an early start on the planning of the 2019 Online Summer Course.  Interested teachers should submit a letter of interest to the UTS Human Resources Department (employment@utschools.ca),  by 5pm January 18 , 2018.
