UTS admits qualified students regardless of their financial circumstances. UTS actively seeks students who represent varied socio-economic backgrounds. UTS has one of the largest financial assistance programs among independent schools in Canada and annually awards over $1.2 million in aid to approximately 20% of the student body.
Financial assistance bursaries are based on need and require annual qualification by Apple Financials. Bursaries are recommended using information provided by applicant families and qualification information from Apple Financials.
To apply for financial assistance, visit the Apple Financial Services website to set up an account and complete the submission process.
“I feel as if I have grown up here... I wouldn’t be who I am today without my experiences here. All this was possible (and continues to be possible) because of the generosity of people like you”.
Families who are interested in applying will receive information about the Apple Financials application if they are invited to participate in Stage 2 of the UTS Application Process. The admission decisions and the financial assistance decisions are made independently, and all financial assistance bursaries are based exclusively on need.
Application for new students: January 10, 2018
Financial assistance decisions emailed to new students (with offer of admission): February 28, 2018
UTS partners with Apple Financial Services to process financial assistance requests. In complete confidentiality, Apple Financial Services closely reviews all financial details and provides an analysis of a family’s ability to contribute toward educational expenses. It then submits its recommendations to UTS. These recommendations include:
a recommendation with respect to the amount of financial award.
Families are required to provide full financial disclosure, including a Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment. Incomplete documentation may result in withdrawal of assistance.
Our Financial Assistance Policy can be accessed here.
“I absolutely would not have been able to go to UTS without the bursary program. It opened a lot of doors. It means a lot for me to be able to give back to the community.”
