Our Project Manager explains some of the ongoing construction work at 371 Bloor Street West.
A behind-the-scenes walk-through of the inside of the construction site reveals some of the many changes beginning to take place inside and outside the school's walls.
Drilling has started on the hole that will house our double gym, the future home of gym classes and Blues games! When complete, the depth of the hole will be almost 30' (9m).
The stairs at the south end of the Huron St. wing at 371 Bloor St. W. came down this week, and will be replaced with a new staircase with windows overlooking the renewed parkette, giving students a lovely view on their way to classes. The storage shed was demolished too. In the renewed UTS building, dramatic productions and Classics will be able to store their set pieces and chariots inside!
As the south Huron St. stairs come down, scaffolding goes up to prepare for the heritage restoration of the Huron St. and Bloor St. W. facades of the school.

It's a beautiful morning as demolition continued on a property just next to the school, which will clear the way for construction vehicles to access the site and revitalize UTS.

As our motto says: "Velut arbor ita ramus" ("Like the tree, so the branch"). Tree protection zones went up around several of the trees surround our historic 371 Bloor Street West home.
